Matthew

Jesus heals a paralyzed man. He calls Matthew. He discusses fasting. He heals many more. He speaks of the urgent need for evangelizers.

The Lord Jesus teaches us how to give to needy people, how to pray, and how to fast. He tells us to live for heavenly treasures, and to seek God not money.

They bring Jesus to Pilate for questioning. Pilate permits the death sentence. The soldiers torture Jesus. They crucify him. He dies. They bury his body.

A woman anoints Jesus. He celebrates the Passover, prays at Gethsemane, and is betrayed. He stands before the religious leaders. Peter denies Jesus.

Jesus tells the parable of the ten bridesmaids, and the parable of the talents. He describes the Final Judgment.

Jesus Christ reveals the events that will lead up to his triumphant return in glory at the End of Days. We are to be vigilant and wise and faithful.

Jesus says to reject all religious titles. He says to call no one Father. He denounces the religious leaders. He weeps over Jerusalem.

John the Baptist prepares the way. He says Jesus Christ will baptize us with fire. Then John baptizes Jesus Christ.

Wise men from the East visit the newborn Messiah. The family flees to Egypt. King Herod massacres infants. The family settles in Nazareth.
