Contemplative Prayer as “Absorbing”

We Christians are great at complicating things. We’ve done that with Contemplative Prayer. We imagine it is very complicated, and yet is it very simple.

However, Contemplative Prayer is a lot more simple than that. It is like absorbing. To get a suntan, we just sit still in the sunlight and absorb the radiance.

To grow in Contemplative closeness to God, we sit still in the presence of God and absorb the splendor of his presence!
