Memorizing Scripture is a way to meditate

God calls us to meditate on the Scriptures. The process of memorizing a verse is a great way to do that.

We find that it takes 30 minutes to an hour to memorize a verse. During that time, we are saying the words of the verse, over and over again. It’s a great way to meditate on the Scriptures.

And we are called to meditate on the Scriptures. Joshua 1:8 is a famous example of a command to meditate on the Bible.

Here it is:

Joshua 1:8. This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it; for then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall have good success.
