Blessed are you who are Poor

The Lord Jesus says poor people are blessed. However, many Christians trivialize that amazing promise from the Messiah by spiritualizing it.

 

 

Sirach 31:8. Blessed is the rich that is found without blemish, And that goes not after gold.

Matthew 5:3. Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven.

Luke 6:20. He lifted up his eyes to his disciples, and said, “Blessed are you who are poor, God’s Kingdom is yours.
