Melchizedek the king of Salem and priest of the Most High God
Melchizedek was the king of Salem and a priest of the Most High God. He brought out bread and wine. Then he blessed Abram and the Most High God.
INTRODUCTION
Melchizedek is a mysterious figure. He was the king of the royal city of Salem and a priest of the Most High God.
The word “Salem” is probably a precursor to the word “Jeru-Salem.” That is, “Jerusalem.”
Melchizedek brought out bread and wine. Perhaps this foreshadows the Lord Jesus Christ and the Last Supper.
