Open our eyes that we may SEE

Most of us go through our lives, scarcely seeing the things that really matter. But like some of the prophets, we can ask the LORD God to open our eyes!

Prophets see. They see the natural world and all that happens in it. And they see the Big-Picture issues that really matter.

And they also see the invisible realm.

Some of them received that “sight” as a gift. Others asked for it.

In our day, Christians need to see. We need to see the natural world and all that happens in it.

And we also need to see the Big-Picture issues that really matter.

And we also need to see into the invisible realm.

Like some of the prophets, we too can ask the LORD God to open our eyes!

Genesis 21:19. God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water. She went, filled the container with water, and gave the boy a drink.

Numbers 24:2. Balaam lifted up his eyes, and he saw Israel dwelling according to their tribes; and the Spirit of God came on him.

Numbers 24:3. He took up his parable, and said, “Balaam the son of Beor says, the man whose eyes are open says;

Numbers 24:4. he says, who hears the words of God, who sees the vision of the Almighty, falling down, and having his eyes open:

Numbers 24:15. He took up his parable, and said, “Balaam the son of Beor says, the man whose eyes are open says;

Numbers 24:16. he says, who hears the words of God, knows the knowledge of the Most High, and who sees the vision of the Almighty, falling down, and having his eyes open:

2 Kings 6:17. Elisha prayed, and said, “LORD, please open his eyes, that he may see.” The LORD opened the young man’s eyes; and he saw: and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire around Elisha.
