Paul, Silvanus, and Timothy
For his second missionary journey, Paul the apostle recruited Silvanus and Timothy to be his new coworkers.
INTRODUCTION
Paul was an apostle. When and Silas and Timothy wrote to the communities of believers, Paul refrained from calling himself an apostle. It was probably not necessary.
Silvanus was also known as Silas. After Paul and Barnabas parted ways, Paul selected Silvanus to accompanied him on his second missionary journey. Some speculate that Silvanus served as Paul’s secretary.
Paul met Timothy during his second missionary journey. Timothy became Paul’s companion and missionary partner, along with Silas. Timothy has two books of the Bible named after him: 1 Timothy and 2 Timothy.
