People who say they know when the End of Days will happen
The date of the return of the Lord Jesus is unknown. It will be unexpected. However, some Christians claim to know when it will happen. They are false prophets.
OVERVIEW
The return of Jesus Christ will set in motion the resurrection of the dead, the rapture of the living, the Final Judgment, the end of our corporeal existence, and eternal life.
When will this glorious return happen? The date of this future event is unknown. It will catch everybody off-guard, including us believers.
It will be unexpected, like a thief in the night.
If the Lord Jesus Christ does not know that day or hour, and the angels don’t know it, then neither do we.
However, some people insist they know exactly when it will happen. They claim to be prophets. But they are false prophets.
One very famous false prophet of our day was Harold Camping. He said Judgment Day would take place on May 21, 2011. He talked people into giving him millions of dollars.
His claim was false. His ideas originated in his own mind, and not from the LORD God.
False prophets seem inevitable. But the Bible commands us to not listen to false prophets.
Even if a false prophet is sincere, they do not speak the truth. The sad truth is that a false prophet fills people with false hopes based on a lie.
