To Proclaim the Acceptable Year of the Lord
When he was in Nazareth, the Lord Jesus announced that it was the acceptable year of the LORD. It was God’s time to act!
INTRODUCTION
In the Old Testament era, every fifty years, the people were to observe a Jubilee Year. It was a year-long Sabbath.
All people returned to their roots and set everything aright.
It was a time of restoration and blessing. Everyone regained their ancestral homeland. Property that was sold or justly taken away was restored, as was property that was unjustly taken away.
The appointed time arrived, and that was when God moved.
In our day, if often seems that God does not seem to move until the time is right.
In your life, are you still waiting for God to move? Perhaps the time is not right. At least not yet, anyway. Keep your expectations high.
Now is the acceptable year of the LORD!
