When other people benefit, we rejoice. When other people suffer, we suffer along with them.

 

 

OVERVIEW

 

Many Christians behave as if they themselves are the center of Christianity. What matters is that they get what they want.

But the Bible calls us to care about other people. We are to put them first.

As people who walk with God, we celebrate each other’s victories. We are an organic unit. Each part affects the rest.

Our faith is like a rocket ship. It launches us into the lives of other people. We become taken up with their wellbeing.

When other people benefit, we rejoice. When other people suffer, we suffer along with them.

To live this way is to practice solidarity. It is to be spiritually fruitful. It is to know the power of God in our lives.

 

BIBLE VERSES

 

Psalm 20:5. We will triumph in your salvation. In the name of our God, we will set up our banners. May the LORD grant all your requests.

Isaiah 63:9. In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them. In his love and in his pity he redeemed them. He bore them, and carried them all the days of old.

1 Corinthians 12:26. If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it. (NIV translation)

 

THE QUR’AN

Qur’an 4:104. And do not falter in the pursuit of the remaining group. If you are feeling pain, then they are also feeling pain as you are; and you seek from God what they do not seek. God is Knowledgeable, Wise.
