You shall be holy; for I am holy

The LORD God is holy. He calls us to be holy. Holy people apply themselves, and all their actions, to God. They imitate the LORD God.

 

 

Leviticus 11:44. For I am the LORD your God. Sanctify yourselves therefore, and be holy; for I am holy. You shall not defile yourselves with any kind of creeping thing that moves on the earth.

Leviticus 11:45. For I am the LORD who brought you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God. You shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.

Leviticus 19:2. Speak to all the congregation of the children of Israel, and tell them, ‘You shall be holy; for I, the LORD your God, am holy.’

Leviticus 20:7. Sanctify yourselves therefore, and be holy; for I am the LORD your God.

1 Peter 1:16. because it is written, “You shall be holy; for I am holy.”
