Has the Holy Spirit given you the ministry gift of Speaking? It is to speak forth the literal mind of God.
IN THE BIBLE
1 Peter 4:11. If anyone SPEAKS, let it be as it were the very words of God. If anyone serves, let it be as of the strength which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.
The Greek word is λαλεῖ (“lalei”). In general, it means to speak, to say, to talk, to make audible words. You speak forth your mind. In this context, it means to speak God’s words.
WHAT DOES IT MEAN?
Do not mistake this for being chatty or a blabbermouth.
Do not mistake it for being assertive or bossy.
Rather, for this Ministry Gift to work, it must be evident that you are not speaking your own mind or asserting your own will. But instead, people will sense that you are speaking God’s mind.
St. Paul said “We have the mind of Christ” (1 Corinthians 2:16).
HOW ABOUT YOU?
Are you able to restrain yourself from talking, until you have a clear sense that the Holy Spirit is calling you to speak a certain thing? When you speak God’s mind, does it impact your hearer as a message from the Holy Spirit?
If so, you may well have this gift!
