Contemplative Prayer as Resting

| |

The concept of Contemplative Prayer can be difficult to understand. But in Psalm 62, David provides a great description:

In Psalm 62:1, David says,

My soul rests in God alone. My salvation is from him.

And in Psalm 91:1, the author says:

He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.

David rests in God. Resting in God is a great way to practice Contemplative Prayer. You simply sit still and quiet you mind.

You do not say prayers or think specific thoughts. Instead, you simply enjoy the presence of God.
