David and Jonathan

David and Jonathan greatly delighted in each other. They kissed each other. David preferred Jonathan’s love more than love from women.

 


 

1 Samuel 18:3. Then Jonathan and David made a covenant, because he loved him as his own soul.

1 Samuel 19:1b. Jonathan, Saul’s son, greatly delighted in David.

1 Samuel 20:17. Jonathan caused David to swear again, for the love that he had to him; for he loved him as he loved his own soul.

1 Samuel 20:41b. They kissed one another, and wept one with another, and David wept the most.

2 Samuel 1:26. I am distressed for you, my brother Jonathan; You have been very pleasant to me. Your love to me was more wonderful Than the love of women. (NASB translation)
