Just Sit – a Haiku poem

I wrote this Haiku poem after a session of Contemplative Prayer.

My unguarded thoughts

Can run a mile a minute

Soon as I “let go”

The Soto Zen phrase,

“Shikantaza” (Japanese)

Simply means “just sit”

Distractions come up

Like a movie in the mind

Don’t follow the plot
