Elijah the prophet. By the time of Malachi, Elijah the prophet had been dead for centuries.

Christians say it was fulfilled in John the Baptist.

VERSE 6. He will turn the hearts of the fathers to the children and the hearts of the children to their fathers, lest I come and strike the earth with a curse.”

NAB translation. to turn the hearts of the fathers to their children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers, Lest I come and strike the land with doom.

DT translation. And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.

The Lord Jesus Christ fulfilled this prophecy.

The Old Testament concludes here.
