The joys of those who are kind to the poor

Do you want more joy? More blessings from the LORD? Go find some poor people and be kind to them!

In the U.S., it is common for Christians to express contempt for poor people. Many Christians complain that poor people are lazy and steal resources from the rich.

However, the Bible calls us to have compassion for poor people and to help them by giving them money and other assistance.

King David says this:

Psalm 41:1. Oh, the joys of those who are kind to the poor! The LORD rescues them when they are in trouble (NLT translation)

The wonderful promises in Psalm 41 are conditional. They are conditional based on our being kind to poor people.

Do you want more blessings from the LORD? More joy? Go find some poor people and be kind to them!
