Mountains are among the most solid things we know. Yet before the awesome power of the LORD God, they will melt. And so will our troubles.

Mountains are among the most solid things we know. Yet before the awesome power of the LORD God, they will melt.

In our own lives, our troubles can seem like mountains. Yet for us disciples, they are nothing compared with the glory of the LORD God. Before him our troubles will melt.

 

BIBLE VERSES

 

Psalm 46:6. The nations raged. The kingdoms were moved. He lifted his voice, and the earth melted.

Psalm 68:2. As smoke is driven away, so drive them away. As wax melts before the fire, so let the wicked perish at the presence of God.

Psalm 97:5. The mountains melt like wax before the LORD, before the Lord of all the earth. (NAB translation)

Psalm 104:32. He looks at the earth, and it trembles. He touches the mountains, and they smoke.

Amos 9:5. For the Lord, the LORD of Hosts, is he who touches the land and it melts, and all who dwell in it will mourn; and it will rise up wholly like the River, and will sink again, like the River of Egypt.
