Workers deserve their wages

The community is to financially provide for people who teach the faith. [see 1 Timothy 5:18]

1 Timothy 5:18. For the Scripture says, “You shall not muzzle an ox when it treads out the grain,” and, “The laborer deserves his wages.” (ESV translation)

The laborer deserves his wages. Christian leaders toil away at their ministry. Their ministry consumes their time and their energy. They don’t have the time or energy to work a paid job.

They are worthy of a wage. The community needs to compensate them.

We should compensate Christian leaders for their ministry.

Many godly Christians interpret this verse as a command for them to provide financial support for their leaders in the faith.

APPLICATION

In our day, people who teach us in the faith often need resources to help them accomplish their mission.

If they ask you for help, are you willing to help compensate them?
