Has the Holy Spirit given you the ministry gift of Apostle? It is to minister to others by being sent into a new cultural milieu to proclaim Jesus Christ.
IN THE BIBLE
1 Corinthians 12:28. God has set some in the assembly: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracle workers, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, and various kinds of languages.
apostles. The Greek word is ἀποστόλους (“apostolous”). It means a messenger, one who is sent, an envoy, a delegate, one who is commissioned.
Ephesians 4:11. He gave some to be apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, shepherds and teachers;
apostles. The Greek word is the same as above.
WHAT DOES IT MEAN?
Paul and Barnabas were sent out from Antioch as apostles. In our day, local churches send people out on a mission. Those being sent are acting as modern-day apostles.
Once in a while, an individual sends themselves on a mission. They too are acting as modern-day apostles.
The Gift of Apostle and the Gift of Evangelist have a lot of overlap.
To go out as an Apostle is like going out on a Field Trip, except that it is at least semi-permanent.
Do not interpret this to mean the ordained. An ordained person might (or might not) have this Ministry Gift.
HOW ABOUT YOU?
Are you a natural traveler? Are you fascinated by people who are different from you? Can you let go of your own culture in order to minister within a new one?
If so, you may well have this gift!
