Are you gifted for Wisdom?

Has the Holy Spirit given you the ministry gift of Wisdom? It is to see into life situations and offer practical godly advice.

 

IN THE BIBLE

 

1 Corinthians 12:8. For to one is given through the Spirit the word of wisdom, and to another the word of knowledge, according to the same Spirit;

The Greek word is σοφίας (“sophias”). You might recognize that word: sophia. It means wisdom.

 

WHAT DOES IT MEAN?

 

The Gift of Wisdom means you can see into things.

If you have this gift, you are a sage. People come to you for help in seeing what’s going on in their life. You can see into life situations and have godly practical wisdom about it.

Do not think of the ordained as having this gift. Perhaps a few do, but many do not.

This Gift is also referred to as “Wise Counsel.”

 

HOW ABOUT YOU?

Are you able to see into situations more deeply than most people you know? Do people come to you for advice? Are you perceived as prudent?

Sirach 44:4. Leaders of the people by their counsels, And by their understanding men of learning for the people; Wise were their words in their instruction:

Isaiah 11:2. The LORD’s Spirit will rest on him: the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD.
