A hero (or heroine) combats adversity through feats of ingenuity, courage, or strength. Or faith.

Rahab was a Gentile woman and a sex worker. Thanks to her, the Hebrew people captured the city of Jericho. The Bible lauds her as a hero of the faith.
I wrote this Haiku poem after seeing a movie called The Song of Bernadette.
