The Book of Revelation unveils the return of the Lord Jesus Christ at the end of time, as well as the years immediately preceding it.

SUMMARY
AUTHOR. The opening verses of the Book Revelation plainly state that it was written by the Apostle John.
And from the first century to the present, Christians have almost unanimously agreed that it was written by the Apostle John.
DATE. Most scholars affirm that Revelation was written in 95 or 96 AD, while John was exiled on Patmos Island.
PURPOSE. To reveal events which will take place immediately before, during, and after the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.
INTERPRETATION. The Book of Revelation has a very unique character. It uses symbolic and apocalyptic forms of revelation extensively. Those can only be interpreted.
Here are the main interpretive principles:
Allegorical: the entire Bible is an extensive allegory to be interpreted in a nonliteral sense.
Mystical: interpreting it through the lens of contemplative experience.
Futuristic: it realistically predicts the end-times events of the future.
Historical: a symbolic portrait of church history.
Preterist: a symbolic portrait of early church conflicts which have been fulfilled.

MEMORIZE
Revelation 1:3. Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of the prophecy, and keep the things that are written in it, for the time is at hand.
Revelation 2:4. But I have this against you, that you left your first love.
Revelation 2:5. Remember therefore from where you have fallen, and repent and do the first works; or else I am coming to you swiftly, and will move your lamp stand out of its place, unless you repent.
Revelation 3:19. As many as I love, I reprove and chasten. Be zealous therefore, and repent.
Revelation 3:20. Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, then I will come in to him, and will dine with him, and he with me.
Revelation 11:3. I will give power to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy one thousand two hundred sixty days, clothed in sackcloth.
Revelation 12:11. They overcame him because of the Lamb’s blood, and because of the word of their testimony. They didn’t love their life, even to death.
Revelation 14:15. Another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to him who sat on the cloud, “Send your sickle, and reap; for the hour to reap has come; for the harvest of the earth is ripe!”
Revelation 15:3. They sang the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, “Great and marvelous are your works, Lord God, the Almighty! Righteous and true are your ways, you King of the nations.
Revelation 15:4. Who wouldn’t fear you, Lord, and glorify your name? For you only are holy. For all the nations will come and worship before you. For your righteous acts have been revealed.”
Revelation 19:11. I saw the heaven opened, and behold, a white horse, and he who sat on it is called Faithful and True. In righteousness he judges and makes war.
Revelation 19:12. His eyes are a flame of fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has names written and a name written which no one knows but he himself.
Revelation 19:13. He is clothed in a garment sprinkled with blood. His name is called “The Word of God.”
Revelation 19:14. The armies which are in heaven followed him on white horses, clothed in white, pure, fine linen.
Revelation 19:15. Out of his mouth proceeds a sharp, double-edged sword, that with it he should strike the nations. He will rule them with an iron rod. He treads the wine press of the fierceness of the wrath of God, the Almighty.
Revelation 19:16. He has on his garment and on his thigh a name written, “KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.”
