The Cloud of Glory

We want to see God. But we are unable to apprehend the LORD God in all his glory. So at the great moments of biblical history, he appears in the hidden form of a Cloud.

Exodus 40:34. Then the cloud covered the Tent of Meeting, and the LORD’s glory filled the tabernacle.

1 Kings 8:10. It came to pass, when the priests had come out of the holy place, that the cloud filled the LORD’s house,

2 Chronicles 5:13. when the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the LORD; and when they lifted up their voice with the shofars and cymbals and instruments of music, and praised the LORD, saying, “For he is good, for his loving kindness endures forever!” then the house was filled with a cloud, even the LORD’s house,

2 Chronicles 6:1. Then Solomon prayed, “O LORD, you have said that you would live in a thick cloud of darkness.” (NLT translation)

2 Chronicles 7:1. Now when Solomon had finished praying, fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices; and the LORD’s glory filled the house.

Ezekiel 10:3. Now the cherubim stood on the right side of the house, when the man went in; and the cloud filled the inner court.
