In most of the the Book of Leviticus, the sacrificial animals were to be male. But in some cases, the animal for a sin offering was to be female.
Note: Many people find it morally objectionable that a religion requires the killing of innocent animals.
We wonder why these sin offerings are to be female.
Also, these verses seem to do away with the idea that a “sin offering” must be male.
And hence the common Christian argument that because a “sin offering” must only be male, therefore the Second Person of the Holy Trinity could only incarnate as a male.
And hence the common Christian argument that because Jesus Christ could only be male, therefore Christian clerics can only be male.
Leviticus 4:28. if his sin which he has sinned is made known to him, then he shall bring for his offering a goat, a female without defect, for his sin which he has sinned.
Leviticus 4:32. If he brings a lamb as his offering for a sin offering, he shall bring a female without defect.
Leviticus 5:6. and he shall bring his trespass offering to the LORD for his sin which he has sinned: a female from the flock, a lamb or a goat, for a sin offering; and the priest shall make atonement for him concerning his sin.
Numbers 19:9. A man who is clean shall gather up the ashes of the heifer, and lay them up outside of the camp in a clean place; and it shall be kept for the congregation of the children of Israel for use in water for cleansing impurity. It is a sin offering.
