Job chapter 25

Bildad finally perks up and says something. He says something worth listening to. It is that no one is righteous before God.

 


 

BILDAD SAYS WE HUMANS CANNOT BE RIGHTEOUS

 

VERSE 1. Then Bildad the Shuhite answered,

Bildad the Shuhite answered. Finally! Bildad perks up and says something. He says something worth listening to.

 

VERSE 2. “Dominion and fear are with him. He makes peace in his high places.

 

VERSE 3. Can his armies be counted? On whom does his light not arise?

 

VERSE 4. How then can man be just with God? Or how can he who is born of a woman be clean?

How then can man be just with God? Bildad correctly observes that no one is righteous before God. That is consistent with subsequent biblical revelation.

To sin is to violate God’s will for us. It harms our relationship with God. We all have missed the mark and sinned. Here are the verses we’ve found »

 

VERSE 5. Behold, even the moon has no brightness, and the stars are not pure in his sight;

 

VERSE 6. How much less man, who is a worm, the son of man, who is a worm!”
