Psalm 117

This psalm is an invitation to people of all nations to praise the LORD for his loyal love and faithfulness.




NOTE. This is one of the “Hallel” psalms. They are sung at the Passover meal. They include Psalm 113114115116117, and 118.


VERSE 1. Praise the LORD, all you nations! Extol him, all you peoples!

all you nations. The author envisions people of all nations coming to faith in the One God of Israel.


VERSE 2. For his loving kindness is great toward us. The LORD’s faithfulness endures forever. Praise the LORD!

Praise the LORD. The Hebrew word is hallv-hohh.
